How to Become a Florida SIM Professional Developer
The University of Kansas Center for Research on Learning has designed instruction to enable participants to fulfill the role of Strategic Instruction Model Professional Developer in the future dissemination of the Strategic Instruction Model (SIM).
A SIM Professional Developer is an individual who has mastered the philosophy and structure of the Strategic Instruction Model and can present this information to administrators and teachers in such a way that they not only understand features and benefits of SIM but also the system change/cost factor requirements inherent in implementing SIM. In addition, this individual is prepared to provide professional development sessions on task-specific strategies. SIM Professional Developers will have primary responsibility for maintaining the integrity of the Strategic Instruction Model.
