In-Field Content Certification Support for Educators

Florida Department of Education, Bureau of Exceptional Student Education

The purpose of the In-field Content Certification Support Program is to provide financial assistance to exceptional student education (ESE) teachers who are teaching students using Access Points – Alternate Academic Achievement Standards (AP-AAAS) in a Florida, public school so that the teachers meet in-field content certification requirements. This program will provide financial assistance, up to $225, for eligible teachers to take the Elementary Education K-6 Certification Exam and add that subject area to their educator certificate. This program is available through annual funding from the Florida Department of Education, Bureau of Exceptional Student Education under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Part B.  

To be accepted into this program, the applicant must:  

  • have a Florida Educator Certificate in Exceptional Student Education (ESE)
  • be currently employed in a Florida public school  
  • be teaching students using Access Points – Alternate Academic Achievement Standards (AP-AAAS)
  • need to add Elementary Education K-6 certification to meet in-field requirements
